Miss Mack's Short Vowel Set is about a bear and his buds. These books were created by an experienced early childhood teacher to teach phonics in sequential order by a teacher of English Learners. The short vowel set goes over the short a, e, i, o, and u sounds. The back of the book includes guided reading lesson plans including phonics and comprehension instruction, building background for English learners, guided questions, and writing and phonics activities. The books are purposefully printed in large, clear text to aide those with visual impairments and/or dyslexia.

The Willard Series was created for parents and teachers to help teach kids learn to read. The Willard Series begins with the basics of reading and builds phonics and comprehension skills up to a 3rd grade reading level. The series will have 5 sets of books. The first set introduces consonant letters and sounds, the second set uses sight word sentences to prepare early readers, the third set (this book is part of the third set) teaches phonics skills while introducing basic comprehension skills, the fourth set (forthcoming) develops fluency and comprehension skills, and the fifth set (also forthcoming) focuses on advancing readers to prepare them for chapter books.
