Focusing on the evolution of English Language Teaching (ELT) policies in Chinese higher education, this book draws on a decade of ethnographic and policy research. It explores the innovative adaptations of teaching methods and materials by both local and foreign educators, alongside students' experiences. By highlighting local practices and the interplay of social and political dynamics, the author argues for greater involvement of diverse stakeholders in shaping ELT policy and curriculum globally, emphasizing the need for context-sensitive approaches.
