Die Enterprise empfängt den Notruf einer abgelegenen Wissenschaftsstation auf dem Planeten Phädra. Als ein Team unter der Leitung von Commander Riker auf Phädra landet, sehen sich die Enterprise-Offiziere mit einer Katastrophe konfrontiert: Die gesamte Station wurde offenbar von irgendeiner Naturgewalt zerstört, die meisten Wissenschaftler sind ums Leben gekommen. Nur die Geologin Adrienne Tillstrom und ihr Sohn Mikal haben überlebt. Was tatsächlich auf Phädra passiert ist, bleibt für Captain Picard ein Rätsel. Dr. Tillstrom liegt im Koma, Mikal leidet unter Amnesie. Und auch die Lehmmassen, die in die Station eingedrungen sind, bieten zunächst keinen Hinweis. Nejbláznivější dobrodružství všech časů a vesmírů. Je dokonalým mezihvězdným kavaleristou: velký, silný a vlastní dokonale vymytý (vypitý) mozek. Prostě perfektní hrdina: ochotný udělat cokoliv, aby si zachránil krk. (Jedna z mála částí těla, která je původní.) Bill se dostává do nemocnice. Bláhově stále doufá ve výměnu Satyrické nohy, která mu byla omylem implantována. Ne, že by měl něco proti satyrům – alespoň dokud ho jeden z nich nechytí za nohu a nevhodí pod hladinu oceánu. Přímo do světa nekonečně nechutné rozkoše!
