Focusing on the importance of accurately predicting construction project durations, this work utilizes survival analysis to model building project durations in Istanbul. Analyzing a dataset of 146 cases, it identifies three key predictive factors: adjusted project value, gross ground floor area, and building type. The resulting formula serves as a practical tool for project stakeholders, enabling effective budgeting and monitoring. Additionally, the model can benchmark construction performance across various regions and building categories, enhancing project management strategies.

The study initiated with underlying principles of construction production which is an impetus to ill-conditioned prediction of project determinants at the early phases of building projects. To enhance the precision of these estimations, unique solutions relying on the statistical evidences were offered.
