Reverend Run Livres

Guillaume Renard, alias RUN, est un artiste dont l'œuvre puise dans une profonde fascination pour la science-fiction à l'ancienne, les films de série Z et le catch mexicain. Son style visuel est fortement influencé par l'esthétique des années 80 et 90, ce qui se reflète dans ses personnages originaux et ses mondes richement développés. Le projet principal de Renard, Mutafukaz, est né d'une idée de 1998 et s'est développé en un univers complexe aux interactions de personnages détaillées, initialement sous la forme d'une simple bande dessinée en noir et blanc. Cette création artistique a obtenu une reconnaissance internationale grâce à un court métrage d'animation qui a été sélectionné pour le Festival du film de Sundance.

Angelino mieszka, w obskurnym pokoju hotelowym w latynoskiej dzielnicy, ze swoim przyjacielem Vinzem. Utrzymuje się z dorywczych prac. Dni upływają mu na monotonnym oglądaniu telewizji (na szczęście są w niej meksykańskie zapasy, których jest fanem), na kiepskiej pracy oraz dyskusjach pod gwiazdami z przyjacielem. Wszystko zmienia wypadek, który pogrąża go w ciągu wydarzeń z udziałem ciężko uzbrojonych mężczyzn ubranych na czarno, wszelkiego rodzaju gangów, meksykańskich zapaśników, a nawet złośliwych kosmicznych istot z ukrytymi celami! Mutafukaz inspirowany jest science fiction z lat 50. XX wieku, do której włącza współczesne elementy - choćby hip-hop i meksykańskie zapasy. Dzięki temu koktajlowi jest to komiks o mrocznej, paranoicznej atmosferze, ale jest też bardzo zabawny. Seria Runa, to flagowa seria studia Label 619, które odpowiada za takie znane polskim czytelnikom tytuły jak: Shangri-La, PTSD, Węgiel i Krzem, The Midnigth Order, Frontier, Hoka Hey!. Wydanie zbiorcze zbiera wszystkie 5. tomów serii, pojawiają się nowe strony, a wiele innych zostało wyretuszowanych, aby poprawić spójność uniwersum serii komiksowej i filmu fabularnego Mutafukaz (można obejrzeć w internecie).
