Ethorenn wakes up with a heavy headache. He remembers the orch attack and Emerelds hurt shoulder, but nothing how they escape. He noticed a person in a black cloak sitting by a campfire some steps away. Ethorenn, Neväida and the person in the black cloak enter the city of Reedell in search for healing remedies for Emerelds wound. On the streets they encounter a street kid named Kipp, which joins them on their travel. After Emereld are healed they continued with their journey. In the distance a huge erappal tree are emerging, and by its roots the elven city, Spring-haven. Nervous, Ethorenn is brought before the elven council that will decide his fate.

Ethorenn's life changes when orchs destroy his village, prompting him to travel to Spring-Haven. Accompanied by a dragon family, he rescues a captured princess from a dragon. He follows her to her hometown, Merrieden, where her true intentions come to light.

In the land of Nevanion, young Ethorenn has lived his whole life in a secluded village, feeling that he doesn't belong there. His father wants him to become the next village chief, but all Ethorenn wants is to explore the world. One day, his world is turned upside down when orchs attack his village, burning it to the ground, and kidnap him. While escaping the orchs he frees a captured dragon and he soon finds himself accompanied by this young dragon, called Neväida. With nothing left for him in the village, Ethorenn sets out on an adventure not knowing it will have great consequences not only for himself, but for all of Nevanion.
