Kathleen Basi

One year after the tragic loss of her husband and twin teenagers, Miriam Tedesco grapples with her faith in humanity and herself. The arrival of a bouquet of flowers, a tradition from her late husband on their anniversary, sends her into a spiral. With her best friend's support, she begins the difficult process of moving forward, starting with an inventory of her daughter's room. There, she discovers a program created by her daughter for a cross-country road trip meant for her and her husband as empty nesters. Inspired by the video clips of her children embedded in the program, Miriam decides to embark on this journey in their honor. Armed with her husband's guitar, her daughter's cello, and her son's unfinished piano sonata, she sets out on a musical pilgrimage to confront her grief and the love she fears she never fully expressed. Along the way, she meets a spirited young hitchhiker named Dicey, whose vibrant personality evokes memories of her daughter. As tornadoes, impromptu concerts, and new friendships unfold, Miriam's world begins to revive. Yet, she must confront difficult truths about her family and herself to truly honor their memory. This poignant tale explores themes of courage, vulnerability, and the importance of self-forgiveness.
