Focusing on the ecological significance of Lepidoptera, this study explores butterfly diversity in Permanent Preservation Areas along the BR-116 motorway in Brazil. Conducted over seven months, the research identified 138 individuals across ten families, highlighting the highest diversity at APP km 031 + 815. In contrast, APPs km 026 + 780 and km 061 + 925 exhibited minimal diversity, with only one family recorded. The findings underscore the role of butterflies in pollination and their interactions within ecosystems, emphasizing the importance of conservation efforts.
