Women at the Dawn of History explores the position of women in the patriarchal world of ancient Mesopotamia. As well as mothers, daughters, or wives, they were also authors and scholars, business-women, sources of expressions of eroticism, priestesses with access to gods and goddesses, and regents exercising power on behalf of kingdoms and empires.
