Focusing on the social efficiency of public restroom services in Bogotá, the study analyzes management practices through an institutional lens. It reviews documentary sources from the now-defunct Empresa Distrital de Servicios Públicos and the Instituto Distrital para la Protección de la Niñez y la Juventud. Findings reveal a critical shortage of strategically located restrooms, impacting urban aesthetics and contributing to environmental pollution. The lack of adequate facilities creates social issues for users and poses challenges for the managing entities, highlighting regulatory shortcomings.
