When an accident leads to a dead hitchhiker with a pocket full of strange coins, Stephen is drawn into an ill-advised cover up and soon finds himself in the grip of a travelling curse born of old, deep wounds.
Still trapped on Picture Island, Mandy, George, Jacy, and a small party of luckless others face off with huge beasts, insects, and an incredible oceanic monster. The goal is to get to the one safe spot on the island and wait for Cohagen's supplies and men, but time now has the massive, territorial creatures getting used to the top of the food chain.
