Since the beginning of humanity, gods and warriors engaged in ambitious wars, strategizing like chess players. They left their realm, Godheim, to descend to Midgard, aiding humans in battle and instilling the fervor to cry their names. The gods demanded courage and effort from mortals, assisting them directly or through spells that enhanced their combat effectiveness. Odin, the King of the gods, commanded the Aesir, the powerful clan residing in Asgard, the center of divine feasts and decision-making. Below him were the follower gods, who executed his orders during confrontations, strictly following the rule that no one could descend to the human world without Odin's command. Among the gods, the Valkyries, led by Freya, played a crucial role. They guided the souls of fallen warriors from Midgard to Godheim, specifically to Valhalla, a majestic hall in Asgard where the slain were honored. The Valkyries decided the fates of warriors, choosing who would live or die in battle, and could influence the course of wars to protect their favored fighters. As messengers of Odin, they traversed the skies on swift horses. Once in Valhalla, the fallen warriors, known as Einherjar, dedicated themselves to serving and defending Asgard, training by day and feasting by night, preparing for the ultimate battle known as Ragnarok.
