Designéři a architekti Michal Froněk a Jan Němeček založili společné studio – nazvané Olgoj Chorchoj – v roce 1990. Od roku 2000 jsou vedoucími Ateliéru produktového designu na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze. V českém i globálním kontextu Olgoj Chorchoj patří ke špičce ve svém oboru. Kniha představuje profesní dráhu Olgoj Chorchoj v oblasti designu, architektury, výstavnictví formou autorských esejů a kompletním soupisem jejich dosavadních realizací. Produkce Olgoj Chorchoj mezi lety 1990–2016 je symptomatická pro představení širšího rámce postkomunistické transformace (v oblasti designérské praxe, uměleckého školního vzdělávání, tovární výroby a restartu kapitalistického tržního hospodářství). V rovině dějin a teorie designu je aktivita Olgoj Chorchoj pozoruhodná počáteční inklinací k emotivnímu postmodernismu a pozdějším příklonem ke strohým, logickým principům neomodernismu. Publikace vychází u příležitosti retrospektivní výstavy konané v Uměleckoprůmyslovém muzeu Moravské galerie v Brně. In early September 1928, Viennese police arrested the famed architect Adolf Loos. The charge was child molestation. Two young girls (and eventually a third), ages eight to ten, alleged that Loos had touched them inappropriately and compelled them to commit indecent acts while he was drawing nudes of them. What followed was a very public affair that culminated in a sensational trial, pitting Loos and his supporters against his many detractors. But the controversy was about more than Loos' guilt: like almost everything in Austria in the late 1920s, those involved saw the events through powerful political and cultural lenses. The arrest and subsequent trial not only set the forces of the right against those of the left, but also the city's avant-gardists against their conservative critics. This volume documents the controversy.
