YoVA wurde als Initiative zur Förderung junger Wiener Architekturschaffender von der Stadt Wien 2005 ins Leben gerufen. Die Bedingungen zur Teilnahme sind neben einer jurierten Bewerbung die Kriterien, dass die Bürobetreiber unter 45 Jahre alt sind, den Bürostandort in Wien und mindestens ein Projekt in Wien realisiert haben. Während bei YoVA 1-3 der Schwerpunkt auf den gleichnamigen Ausstellungen lag, werden die Ergebnisse von YoVA 4 ausschließlich in dieser Publikation veröffentlicht; anders als bisher konnten sich auch junge Wiener Landschaftsarchitekturbüros bewerben. Im November 2014 wurde aus den Bewerbungen unter dem Juryvorsitz von Bart Lootsma elf junge Wiener Büros ausgewählt: Lukas Göbl, einzueins architektur, franz-architekten, zwoPK Landschaftsarchitektur, Schenker Salvi Weber Architekten, architekt günter mohr, idealice, LOSTINARCHITECTURE, miss_vdr ar-chitektur, space craft ARCHITEKTUR und bauchplan.

Reality Bytes is a collection of essays by Bart Lootsma, written in the years from 1998 to 2009. "Byte" is a unit of digital information used in information technology and most commonly consists of eight bits. Reality Bytes is also the title of an essay by Bart Lootsma, in which he investigates the relationship between society and architects and town planners. Bart Lootsma, Professor of Architecture as well as architectural historian, critic and curator, is one of the most multi-faceted figures amongst contemporary architectural theorists. He has produced numerous publications, including "Superdutch", an appraisal of contemporary architecture in the Netherlands published in 2000. In Reality Bytes he has now for the first time compiled hitherto (mostly) unpublished texts on architectural theory, on Second Modernism, on populism and architecture, on landscape architecture and on the changing role of architects in society.

Bekannt geworden duch ein Wohn- und Geschäftshaus am Kölner Eigelstein von nur 2.4m Straßenfront und dem „Kölner Brett“, einem mehrgeschossigen Komplex für Wohnen und Arbeiten, steht das „+“ im Namen des Kölner Architektenteams steht für die wechselnden Partner aus Kunst, Wissenschaft, Musik usw., welche die Architekten Arno Brandlhuber (geb. 1964) und Bernd Kniess (geb. 1961) zu ihren Projekten hinzuziehen. Entstanden ist ein Handbuch mit den Kapiteln Landschaft, Material, Struktur, Objekt und Werkzeug. Ein Handbuch, das wie eine Anleitung nutzbar ist und am Beispiel von b & k + den prozessualen Charakter gelungener zeitgenössischer Architektur aufzeigt.
