Diesem Lehrbuch der Finanzwissenschaft liegt eine umfassende Sicht des öffentlichen Sektors einer Volkswirtschaft zugrunde. Neben Fragen der öffentlichen Ausgaben und Einnahmen werden auch ökonomische Aspekte öffentlicher Unternehmen sowie die Finanzwissenschaft der Europäischen Union behandelt. Die Besonderheit des Buches liegt in seiner Anwendungsorientierung und entsprechend in der empirischen und institutionellen Fundierung.
