Modern direct democracy has recently become an essential element of political life in many countries in Europe - and worldwide. Gesellschaftlicher Wandel und Entwicklungen wie die Globalisierung und die europäische Integration haben die Frage aufkommen lassen, welche Relevanz das traditionelle Konzept des Staatsbürgers heute noch besitzt. In diesem Sammelband werden zunächst die interdisziplinären Grundlagen des Konzepts des Staatsbürgers erarbeitet.
