Focusing on the musicians of Beirut, this study delves into the experimental and popular music scenes shaped by a generation born during the Civil War. It highlights how artists across various genres, including rap and jazz, navigate a landscape dominated by mainstream pop and political propaganda. By organizing local concerts and establishing music labels, these musicians create a unique cultural identity that challenges traditional notions of locality and modernity.
