Reviewing the last ten years' experience with CAPD from a variety of angles, this volume represents a contribution to the still on-going debate about CAPD as a valid, long-term alternative to haemodialysis. Peritonitis being one of the major reasons for the discontinuation of CAPD, its therapy and preventive strategies receive special attention.
