En savoir plus sur le livre
The training of scientific and technical personnel has long been a priority for the European Commission, emphasizing the need for advanced training to support a unified EU policy in science and technology. The European School of Climatology and Natural Hazards was established as part of the European Programme on Climatology and Natural Hazards (EPOCH) and continues under the ENVIRONMENT research programme (1990-1994). The school offers annual courses on specialized topics in climatology and natural hazards, targeting graduating, graduate, and postgraduate students. Each course is organized in collaboration with a European institution involved in current research, providing students with formal lectures and opportunities for informal discussions with leading researchers. This volume is based on the lectures from the course held on Elba from October 30 to November 6, 1993, focusing on Statistical Analysis of Climate Variability. It includes selected and extended presentations, contributing significantly to advanced studies in climate statistical analysis and complementing traditional texts. Researchers in climate change and variability will find valuable, comprehensive, and state-of-the-art information within this work.
