Change processes are often closely linked to the goal of revitalizing the organization to enhance operational flexibility and innovation. Merely applying instrumental and methodological approaches fails to capture the essence of revitalization as a mindset among organizational members. Thus, exploring ways to purposefully influence the values reflected in the organizational culture becomes crucial. Given that most organizations have guiding principles that reflect culture and values, a pragmatic approach to their (re)development and implementation is essential for values-oriented repositioning. This involves both content-related and, particularly, process-related revitalization impulses in generating and implementing guiding principles. Key success factors include comprehensive employee participation, early anticipation and management of resistance, and necessary monitoring and follow-up of processes. With a solid theoretical foundation and a detailed case study, the recommendations derived are beneficial not only for those interested in theory but also for practitioners engaged in managing change processes.
