This volume can be described as Krause‹s indispensable main work in the sense that it embodies most clearly a systematic fundamental philosophy in its unity with its manifold practical individual sciences or scholarly disciplines. This is mainly the result of a finely drawn social structure, which develops not only vertically (in an organic system of »unities« from the individual to the family and then to mankind as a whole) but also in various specific organizations of those bodies which are necessary for society, such as for example the state for the law and the church for religion.
