Entanglement was once seen as a mere curiosity within thought experiments, but the violation of Bell's inequality over 25 years ago revealed its significance in the microphysical world. This understanding has shifted perspectives, highlighting that non-local properties of quantum states are integral to modern technology. The connection between information theory and the foundations of mechanics is increasingly acknowledged by physicists and philosophers, particularly in the context of quantum information and entanglement. The relationship was hinted at by Max Born and Wolfgang Pauli, who proposed that pure quantum states provide probabilities for quantum system behavior through the Born rule. Leo Szilard’s analysis of Maxwell’s demon further clarified the interplay between mechanics and information. In this exploration, I aim to critically examine both entanglement and quantum information, as well as their impact on the interpretation of quantum theory.
