The Frequency Dictionaries series aims to produce dictionaries with comparable frequency data across various languages. For many featured languages, this collection represents the first comprehensive compilation based on a large-scale empirical foundation. Available in both print and electronic formats, each dictionary lists the 1000 most frequent word forms by frequency and the 10,000 most frequent forms in alphabetical order. They include an introductory description of the data and the methodological approach, along with language-specific statistical information on letters, word structure, and structural changes related to word frequency. A CD-ROM accompanies the dictionaries, offering a more extensive e-book version with relative frequency data for up to 1,000,000 word forms in alphabetical order. This series enables exploration of both comparative linguistic topics and monolingual issues, such as studies on word formation and frequency-based examinations of lexical areas for dictionaries or language teaching.
