In 2010 the Institute of European Law of Saarland University held a conference to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Dr. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Georg Ress, long-time director of the very institute and former judge at the European Court of Human Rights. The english papers given at this occasion by friends, colleagues, and companions deal with basic and relevant questions, such as the protection of human rights in general and especially the responsibility of the European Court of Human Rights since the beginning of the 21st century.
