Anna Juraschek`s book “salvation of picture in word” is on the idea of image/picture in Bruno Schulz’s literature, thinking and plastic art. Schulz is a Polish-Jewish author from Galicia, who wrote his main work in Polish language. To understand his theoretical and practical use of pictures, Juraschek compares his work to chosen articles on pictures of researchers that are contemporary to him, such as Walter Benjamin and Gisèle Freund. However, the main approach to his idea of picture is developed according to newer picture theories developed by Hans Belting, Gottfried Boehm and others.
