Neulich im Labor is a homage to the photo lab, a potted social history about a slowly disappearing place that helped shape 20th century photography. The protagonists of the piece – photographers, artists, hand printers, and machine operators, each and every one an obsessive operating in their own world comprised of photo-fetish objects and actions – regularly convene at F.’s to reflect on analogue photography, its materiality, and everyday laboratory work.
