En savoir plus sur le livre

Orlando Suero (*1925) began his photography journey in 1939 with a Kodak Jiffy given by his father. He attended the NY Institute of Photography and worked at various camera shops and photo labs, including Compo Photo Color, where he printed images for Edward Steichen’s landmark exhibition, The Family of Man. One of his early assignments was a five-day project in May 1954, capturing the everyday lives of newlyweds Jackie and Senator John F. Kennedy at their Georgetown duplex. This marked the start of a remarkable career photographing some of Hollywood's most iconic figures, including Natalie Wood, Brigitte Bardot, Michael Caine, Sharon Tate, Paul Newman, Julie Andrews, Jack Nicholson, and Dennis Hopper. Suero's warm and genuine approach allowed his subjects to connect with him and his camera in a unique manner, resulting in candid and intimate portraits. This monograph features a collection of previously unseen images of celebrities from the 1950s to the 1980s, many of which have remained in storage for decades.
