En savoir plus sur le livre
Nadja Petrovic, born in 1991 in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia, is an accomplished academic painter with graduate and master's degrees from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, where she graduated in 2013 and completed her MFA in 2017. In 2009, she furthered her studies at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Petrovic has participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Macedonia and internationally. Her artistic focus centers on the human condition, exploring emotional and effective states. By delving beneath the surface of the human face and body, she captures moments of tension, anxiety, trauma, and the liminal experiences of existence. Her unconventional portraits reveal the complexity of identity, portraying subjects as multi-layered and in constant flux, never fully defined or whole. This dynamic movement is accentuated by her unique painting techniques. Additionally, subtle texts inscribed on the faces and bodies of her subjects highlight the infinite textuality of the world, suggesting a narrative that is ever-evolving and often marked by the experiences of those depicted.
