Focusing on the high Mach number shock wave near Saturn's magnetic field, this thesis leverages the unique data from the Cassini spacecraft to explore the solar wind's interaction in a previously inaccessible regime. By comparing shock physics in the Solar System with ultra-high Mach number shocks found in supernova remnants, the author provides valuable in-situ insights that enhance understanding of both phenomena.
