The circulation and entanglements of human beings, data, and goods have not inherently fostered a universal consciousness. The concepts of "global" and "universal" diverge significantly. The notion of a world-society remains contentious, characterized by a dual fragmentation: a critique of Western universalism and a resurgence of identitarian and neo-nationalistic claims. Traditional arguments for strong universalism from Western traditions like Christianity, Marxism, and Liberalism have diminished in legitimacy. Meanwhile, diverse narratives that re-examine the universal are emerging and gaining importance. This volume explores the development and significance of cultural and social practices that propose what is termed minor universality. It investigates where and how contemporary practices can create environments that foster experiences, reflections, and actions reflecting a shared humanity.
