En savoir plus sur le livre
Arch-swindler Moist Van Lipwig finds himself facing execution for his confidence crimes, only to be unexpectedly offered a job as Postmaster by Lord Vetinari, the ruler of Ankh-Morpork. With death as his only alternative, Moist reluctantly accepts the position, along with a hulking golem watchdog to ensure he fulfills his duties. Reviving the decaying Postal Service proves daunting, as he confronts mountains of undelivered mail and a handful of eccentric staff, including a quirky, pin-obsessed youth. To make matters worse, Moist begins to hear the mail talking to him. He must also contend with the ruthless Grand Trunk communication monopoly and its merciless leader, Mr. Reacher Gilt. Despite the overwhelming odds, Moist is inspired by the weathered words on the post office building: "Neither Rain Nor Snow Nor Glom of Nit." For the first time, he resolves to fight against the challenges ahead. With a determination to move the mail, stay alive, win the girl, and deliver the essential hope that everyone—humans, trolls, dwarfs, and golems alike—needs, Moist embraces the bold and impossible.
