En savoir plus sur le livre

This collection features the last and finest previously unpublished photographs of Marilyn Monroe by Milton H. Greene, who was her photographer, artistic adviser, and business partner from 1953 to 1957. Greene played a crucial role in liberating Marilyn from her restrictive contract with Twentieth Century-Fox, leading to the establishment of Marilyn Monroe Productions, Inc. This independence allowed her to command better fees, select her projects, and deliver standout performances in films like Bus Stop and The Prince and the Showgirl, all under Greene's guidance. Their intense and fruitful collaboration is explored for the first time through James Kotsilibas-Davis's original text, revealing how Marilyn often stayed with Greene's family, finding the support she needed for both her work and emotional well-being. However, their partnership ended in 1957 when Marilyn’s third husband, Arthur Miller, took over her business affairs, leading Greene to withdraw from MMP and restrict access to his photographs until his death in 1985. Legal disputes over his estate further delayed the publication of these remarkable images. This volume offers a rich selection of Greene's work, showcasing Marilyn at the peak of her beauty—captured in moments of eroticism, elegance, and vulnerability through Greene's discerning lens.
