The life of William Shakespeare, Britain's greatest dramatist, is deeply intertwined with London's history, as both evolved through triumph and tragedy. Remarkably, 300 years later, Shakespeare's Globe reopened on Bankside, celebrated as a phoenix rising from the ashes.
