Set against the backdrop of 1968 Virginia, this courtroom drama follows a white lawyer, Jack Lee, who steps outside his comfort zone to defend Jerome Washington, a Black man wrongfully accused of murder. Partnering with Desiree DuBose, a dedicated Black lawyer from Chicago, they confront a biased legal system and a formidable prosecutor.
