En savoir plus sur le livre

After decades of warfare, Malazan forces are close to consolidating the Quon Talian mainland when Emperor Kellanved orders a new campaign to invade Falar. With the main armies engaged in Quon Tali, a collection of orphaned units and broken squads, led by Fist Dujek—who is recovering from losing an arm—embarks on this new mission. This rag-tag army is joined by a motley fleet commanded by the Emperor himself. However, doubts linger about Kellanved and his ally Dancer. As the Malazan force heads north, they face an unexpected and formidable threat—an ancient horror that has awakened, intent on destruction. Tayschrenn, the untested High Mage of the Empire, is acutely aware of the true nature of this menace and his own inadequacy in confronting it. He must face this challenge alongside unlikely allies. Meanwhile, the theocracy of Falar is not defenseless; its priests wield a terrifying weapon, the Jhistal, rumored to be a gift from the sea-god Mael. The Emperor, aboard his flagship Twisted—a vessel believed to be otherworldly—sails toward Falar. In the Ice Wastes and among the islands of Falar, the Malazan Empire confronts two seemingly insurmountable challenges, each threatening its very existence during these bloody and turbulent times.
