En savoir plus sur le livre

Still reeling from his divorce and facing a struggling career, MMA fighter Hank Fisher finds himself in Tokyo, desperate for cash. When a friend with yakuza ties presents an opportunity to earn quick money—accompanying a gang to a meeting to resolve a dispute over a stripper—Fisher hesitates but ultimately agrees, seeing a chance to alleviate his financial woes and possibly mend his relationship with his ex-wife and kids. The job seems simple: look tough for an hour in exchange for ten grand. However, chaos erupts during the meeting, and Fisher accidentally injures a gangster. He escapes amid the confusion, but soon the gangsters confront him, demanding he assist in robbing a stash house or face dire consequences. The robbery spirals out of control, leaving Fisher on the run with a million dollars in stolen drug money, while friends are dying, and the police are searching for him in connection with a murder. Desperate, he contacts a former friend in the US government, but that ally appears more interested in the money than helping him. Now, pursued by gangsters, law enforcement, and a potentially corrupt federal agent, Fisher finds himself in a perilous situation, with his ex-wife and children in jeopardy and no apparent escape route.
