Beckford, East London, November 1977. Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee tour is a fast-fading memory. ‘Docklands' and ‘Thatcher's Britain' are just over the horizon, but for aging, balding Teddy Boy Edward Caldecott, other storm clouds are gathering.
