Gem Echols, a nonbinary Seminole teen, navigates life in Gracie, Georgia, hiding their true self behind charm and humor, while sharing a deep connection with Enzo, a trans friend in Brooklyn. Their world shifts when Willa Mae, a mysterious new girl, reveals that they are reincarnated gods with a tumultuous past. As Gem faces threats from enemies in the pantheon, including an attack from the Goddess of Death, they must confront their history and the secrets that bind them to Willa Mae and Enzo, all while grappling with their identity.
