Farmer Higgins makes a scarecrow every year to keep the birds from eating up his precious seeds. He believes that how he makes them, is the reason why his crops are so successful. Scally the scarecrow knows that is not true, for there is something special about scarecrows. He wants to guard those seeds and to be the best in the county, if not the world!His enemy is the crows who think that the seeds are for them to feast on. It's not easy to scare those ‘blighters' away when you're tied to a post! However, Scally is not without a good idea or two and when they run out, help comes in unusual ways.Scally discovers that if you stick to your ground and have a bit of luck, magical things can happen.
