A Black Rose for the Grave

En savoir plus sur le livre

After losing her brother and witnessing her family's disintegration, 17-year-old Lisa Dewey has faced more than most. Following her parents' divorce, she moves to Norman, Oklahoma, with her mother and sister, where she meets Alexander Johnson, a boy who has endured severe bullying and attempted suicide twice. Lisa becomes his confidante, but she struggles with her feelings for him, keeping her affection a secret. Having only dated once in her freshman year, Lisa's life takes a turn when she sees Alex kissing his girlfriend, Sara, whom she has always disliked. Since that moment, she has remained single. Lisa excels in English and impresses her teacher with an essay on Roman mythology, leading to a recommendation for a summer program in Rome. Meanwhile, prom tickets go on sale, and Alex asks Lisa to attend with him, recalling a promise made in their freshman year. Now, Lisa faces a difficult choice: pursue her passion for writing in Rome or attend prom with Alex, the boy who has become so important to her.
