Hank, now in 2nd grade, continues to charm his classmates with his unintentional humor, despite struggling with subjects like spelling, math, and reading. In this second installment of the series, he eagerly convinces his dad to adopt a wiener dog named Cheerio from the shelter. However, chaos ensues when Cheerio escapes at the park, leading to a confrontation with Mr. Zipzer, who threatens to return the dog.
