Born between 456 and 446 BC, he faced challenges as an adopted Athenian citizen. His sharp wit and ridicule targeted influential figures, including Socrates, whose trial was influenced by Aristophanes' work, particularly The Clouds. His satirical prowess also drew the ire of demagogue Cleon, whom he lampooned in plays like The Knights.
