This text has been revised and expanded multiple times, following the 1892 Wohlfeilen edition. The second volume, covering the Oderland, was developed from 1860 to 1863 and first published in 1863, also adhering to the 1892 edition. The Havelland section was written between 1863 and 1872, with its inaugural release in 1873, again based on the 1892 version. The Spreeland narrative spans from 1859 to 1881, first appearing in 1882, while the final volume, Funf Schlosser, was crafted between 1880 and 1888, with its first edition in 1889. This new edition, published in 2016, is in a large format (210 x 297 mm) with a two-column layout. The text is grounded in the comprehensive works of Fontane, edited by a team of scholars across multiple volumes, ensuring a thorough representation of his literary contributions.
