The Drummer Boy's Battle: Introducing Florence Nightingale

Set against the backdrop of the Crimean War, two brothers, Robbie and Peter Robinson, enlist in the British army after their father's death. While Peter serves in the Light Horse Brigade, twelve-year-old Robbie becomes a drummer boy. Separated during battle, Robbie ends up in Barracks Hospital, where he meets Florence Nightingale. As her assistant, he helps her implement crucial reforms amidst resistance from hospital authorities. Together, they strive to improve conditions for wounded soldiers, facing numerous challenges along the way.
