The research focuses on addressing the significant issue of wear in various industries, which leads to substantial economic losses. It explores the effectiveness of protective coatings, specifically Stellite-6 and WC-12CO, applied to grey cast iron Braking Disc Rotors to reduce wear rates. Characterization techniques such as XRD and SEM/EDAX were employed to analyze the coatings. Additionally, wear tests were conducted using a pin on disc testing machine to compare the performance of coated versus uncoated samples, highlighting the potential for improved durability in industrial applications.
