Charlotte Mary Yonge was a prolific English novelist whose works were deeply influenced by her commitment to Anglo-Catholicism and the Oxford Movement. The profits from her writings often supported charitable endeavors, including the Southern Cross schooner. Additionally, Yonge served as editor of the Monthly Packet, a magazine aimed primarily at British Anglican girls, showcasing her dedication to uplifting young women through literature.
