The Master of Silence

The story follows a young boy who, after the sudden death of his father, leaves his unhappy London life to become an apprentice at a cotton importing firm in Liverpool. Assigned the role of an errand boy, he struggles to adjust to his new environment and make friends, spending his evenings reading. His solitary life takes a turn when an unexpected knock at his door disrupts his routine, hinting at the adventures and challenges that lie ahead in his journey toward independence and self-discovery.
