The study focuses on the impact of urbanization on soil properties and ecosystem services in Lubumbashi's green spaces, specifically examining flood mitigation. Through the collection and analysis of 20 soil samples, the research highlights how urban soils experience disturbances that reduce green coverage and alter soil characteristics. Results indicate that vegetated soils exhibit superior physical properties, such as infiltration and porosity, compared to bare soils, underscoring the importance of urban green spaces for maintaining soil health and ecosystem functions.
