Social and Health Protection in Western Balkan

The book explores Kosovo's complex social development history, highlighting the evolution of its pension and social assistance schemes since 2002. While the basic pension has increased from 28 marks to 110 euros, the number of families receiving social assistance has significantly declined from 53,000 to 27,000. The state allocates substantial funds—approximately 280 million euros—to various social programs, including support for war veterans and survivors of wartime sexual violence. However, these programs remain largely unreformed, with employment levels stagnating.
