The thesis explores the relationships between microstructure and properties in bulk metallic glasses through a novel quantitative method. It systematically analyzes how second-phase features influence mechanical properties, focusing on elastic and plastic deformation in cellular honeycombs and porous heterostructures. The research identifies three distinct deformation zones, highlighting transitions from collective buckling to brittle-like failure and sudden global failure. Key findings indicate that pore size, configuration, and sample width significantly affect deformation, with optimal results achieved at a specific pore diameter to spacing ratio.
